Join Professor Gina Neff, for a panel debate at the The New York Times Climate Hub in Glasgow, exploring whether our obsession with technology will slow down the green transition.

15–15:50 G.M.T

Technological innovation is so often presented as the ultimate manifestation of human ingenuity, and relied upon as the silver bullet of global solutions. But is this vision of technology blinding? Does it fail, through its current methods and priorities, to account for the more complex picture we need to build lasting solutions, or can it continue learning from itself until we reach net zero?

Speakers include:

-Gina Neff, Executive Director, Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy

-Ulka Kelkar, Director, World Resources Institute India

-Bertrand Piccard, Chairman, Solar Impulse Foundation

-Kayla Megan Burns, Member, Generation Climate Initiative and Former Student Union President, University of Strathclyde

The New York Times Climate Hub is an ambitious weeklong event featuring live journalism, thought leadership and action on climate change, to be held alongside the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow.
