Project by Louise Hickman exploring the digitalisation of access work has been awarded funding in the third round of the Digital Future at Work Research Centre’s Innovation Fund. Dr Hickman’s project is one of four projects that have been awarded funding in the third round of the Digital Future at Work Research Centre’s Innovation Fund. The projects will explore crowdfunded work in creative industries, the use of open source digital infrastructure, the digitalisation of access work and the role of HR managers in creating ‘good work’ through digitalisation. In total, £76,543 has been awarded in this round of the fund, supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). The Innovation Fund supports short research projects, no longer than one year in length, that complement the core Digit research programme. The successful applicants are: -Cassandra Bowkett (University of Manchester), Industry 4.0 and the role of Human Resource Managers -Louise Hickman (University of Cambridge), The Digitalisation of Access Work: fiction to policy recommendations -Krystallia Moysidou (University of Sussex), Crowdwork in the creative industry: The case of subscription crowdfunding -Rebecca Taylor (University of Southampton), Beyond organisational boundaries: Open source digital infrastructure in the delivery of products and services Applications for the final round of Innovation Funding will be invited in Spring 2023.
