Artificial intelligence (AI) has been described as computer science that can carry out tasks that traditionally require human intelligence. But what if that means it could take your job?

Rishi Sunak has said the UK will take the lead in reducing the risks posed by artificial intelligence.

Although the Prime Minister says it could help society and be revolutionary, it needs to be implemented “safely and securely with guard rails in place”.

Gina Neff, Executive Director of the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Nicky Campbell and said that ultimately AI will create more jobs than it gets rid of.

However, she says the country must include workers in the “conversations” about AI and provide “more upskilling and reskilling” to ensure technology advances benefit everyone.
